These terms govern your use of this website, operated by Epistemic Labs Inc. (“we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you use the site on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.

If you engage Epistemic Labs, a separate written agreement governs that engagement. Where it differs from these terms, the written agreement prevails, subject to applicable law and privacy rights.

Epistemic Labs is an applied AI lab. Through our data opportunities service, we help businesses identify, prepare, and license proprietary datasets to AI companies as a broker and advisor. We earn a brokerage fee only on closed transactions, agreed in writing before buyer outreach. Sellers retain the ownership rights they hold and grant a scoped license directly or through a structure they approve. Epistemic Labs does not take ownership by default; any transfer would require a separate negotiated agreement chosen by the seller.

The free assessment produces a rule-based preliminary score and, where appropriate, an indicative range from the information you provide and general assumptions. A range may be withheld where rights concerns require review. It is an estimate for discussion only, without buyer confirmation. It is not:

• an offer to buy, license, or broker your data;
• a promise that a buyer exists or that any transaction will close;
• a formal appraisal, a professional valuation opinion, or a fairness opinion;
• legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.

Actual outcomes depend on diligence, the rights review, buyer demand, and negotiation. They can differ materially from the estimate, and a dataset may turn out to have no licensable value.

The content of this site, including assessments, illustrative opportunities, and general descriptions of the market, is provided for information. Do not rely on it to make legal, financial, or business decisions. Take advice from your own counsel and advisers.

Opportunities labeled illustrative on this site are composites. They are not client engagements or transaction results and do not establish buyer demand or licensable value.

Epistemic Labs is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Questions of ownership, licensing rights, privacy, and compliance must be decided by you with your own counsel. Nothing on this site or in our conversations creates an attorney-client relationship.

When you submit information through the site, you confirm that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are entitled to share it.

• Submit metadata about a dataset only. Do not submit dataset contents, samples, or files.
• Provide your own business contact details. Do not include personal information about other people.
• Do not submit information you are obliged to keep confidential.

Submitting information does not create an engagement or an obligation on either side. Our privacy notice explains how we handle what you submit.

Using this site and the assessment is free. Any brokerage fee is agreed with you in writing before buyer outreach and is payable only when a transaction closes, under the agreed terms. If no transaction closes, no brokerage fee is owed.

You agree not to:

• submit false information or impersonate any person or company;
• scrape, crawl, or harvest the site or its content by automated means, other than standard search engine indexing;
• submit forms in bulk or by automated means, or try to bypass rate limits or bot protection;
• probe, test, or interfere with the security or operation of the site;
• use the site to send unlawful, infringing, or harmful material, or in breach of any law.

We may block access or remove submissions that break these rules.

The site, including its text, design, and assessment methodology, belongs to Epistemic Labs or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from the site without our written permission. Submitting information does not transfer your ownership rights, and you allow us to use it for the purposes described in our privacy notice.

The site may link to or rely on third-party services, such as scheduling tools, analytics, and bot protection. Their own terms and policies may also apply. Our privacy notice explains the integrations used by this site. Nothing in these terms removes responsibilities imposed on us by law.

The site is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, Epistemic Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on an assessment or other site content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. Changes do not alter a separate signed engagement agreement.
